The town of Fountain Hills is an upscale residential community with a hometown flavor. To the west are the gradually sloping Shea corridor which links Fountain Hills to the city of Scottsdale. To the east is the Fort McDowell Indian Community, Verde River and Tonto National Forest. To the north and west are the majestic McDowell Mountains. The centerpiece of Fountain Hills is the world's largest fountain, a 560-foot tall plume of water located in the middle of a man-made 28-acre lake. The fountain spouts on the hour every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is a breathtaking spectacle in the heart of the town.
